Selling into Serbia

Serbia took $49m of Turkish furniture in 2025, up 25% on 2024’s $40m and up from $31m in 2022, which puts it 25th in the Ministry of Trade’s table. Türkiye’s exports to Serbia of all goods were $2.99bn in 2025, up 11%.

There is no duty on Turkish furniture. The Türkiye–Serbia free trade agreement was signed in İstanbul on 1 June 2009 and entered into force on 1 September 2010. Serbia’s duties on Turkish industrial goods were phased down to zero by 1 January 2015; protocols adding services and wider agricultural concessions have applied since 1 June 2019. For a Serbian manufacturer buying Turkish panels or components, the ministry notes that under CEFTA’s rules Turkish-origin materials can count toward Serbian origin, provided the goods are sufficiently worked in Serbia.

Serbia’s labelling follows the EU closely but is its own. Name, full address of the producer or importer, country of origin, quantity, contents, storage and use conditions and consumer warnings are required on all products, all in Serbian, and attached before customs clearance. Serbia does not require CE marking, but products covered by its own technical regulations must carry the Serbian conformity mark, three letters A, which can sit alongside a CE mark. Whether a given product needs it depends on the regulation, and the ministry points to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce questionnaire as the check. VAT is 20%.
