What is actually made here

Bursa is an automotive province that also makes furniture, and its chamber of commerce publishes the proportions. In 2025 Bursa exported $19.53bn of goods. Automotive was $9.20bn of it. Furniture, paper and forest products — the chamber counts the three as one sector — came to $780.5m, level with $778.0m in 2024 and about 4% of the province’s exports.

The Ministry of Trade’s list of production centres names Bursa’s İnegöl district specifically, and says the Bursa–İnegöl basin holds a strategic position for export potential. Of the 17 organised industrial zones the chamber lists in the province, one is specialised in furniture: the İnegöl Furniture and Woodworking Specialised OSB. İnegöl has its own chamber, İTSO, which publishes the district’s figures; they are on the İnegöl page at inegol.

Outside İnegöl, furniture is one trade among many. Bursa’s chamber counts 1,549 of its 60,006 members in furniture and wood products, 2.58%, twelfth of the 26 sector groups it counts. The chamber also records that Bursa OSB was the first organised industrial zone built in Türkiye.

The province has its own port. Gemlik sits on the Marmara coast 32 km north of Bursa city centre; it handled 12.74 million tonnes of foreign-flag cargo in 2025, eighth in the country, and Ro-Ro lines from Gemlik to Marseille and to Novorossiysk ran that year.
