Turkish furniture exporters to Bulgaria

1,204 Turkish furniture and interior-trade firms list Bulgaria among their export markets — the largest published list of its kind. 241 have a company page with their location, trades and full market list.

Selling into Bulgaria

Bulgaria matters out of all proportion to what it buys. Turkish furniture exports to Bulgaria were $83m in 2025, 2% of the total and 4% above 2024, and the trade runs both ways — Türkiye imported $20m of furniture from Bulgaria in the same year. The reason to read this page is that Bulgaria is the door. In 2025 more road export freight left Türkiye through Kapıkule than through any other gate: 2,891,000 vehicles crossed it. Habur was second at 879,343 export vehicle movements and Hamzabeyli third at 547,500.

The three Turkish gates onto the Bulgarian border are Kapıkule, Hamzabeyli and Dereköy. Road carried 31.9% of Türkiye’s exports in 2025, and chapter 94 — furniture, bedding, lighting and prefabricated buildings — was the ninth largest road export group at about $3.0bn, 3.43% of road exports. If you are buying Turkish furniture into any EU country by lorry, it almost certainly crosses here. The Ministry of Trade names congestion at the border gates as one of the reasons operators move to Ro-Ro instead, which is a useful thing to know when a delivery date is tight: the alternative is a sailing to Trieste and a shorter drive.

Duty and currency. Bulgaria is inside the EU, so the customs union applies: no customs duty on industrial goods since 1 January 1996, with the A.TR movement certificate carrying free-circulation status. The currency changed this year. Bulgaria introduced the euro on 1 January 2026 at the fixed rate of 1.95583 lev to one euro, set by the Council in July 2025. Quotations, contracts and duty calculations in Bulgaria are now in euro, and any older pricing in lev should be restated rather than converted at the counter.

The rest is the EU rulebook, and our pages hold it: the responsible person under GPSR at gpsr, the deforestation regulation reaching furniture from 30 December 2026 at eudr, the formaldehyde limit at eu formaldehyde, and CE marking at ce marking and furniture. The EU packaging regulation, Regulation (EU) 2025/40, has applied since 12 August 2026 and replaced the 1994 packaging directive on the same date. What goes wrong at this border is usually time rather than compliance: a queue is a delivery-date problem, and it is worth asking a supplier what its recent crossing times have actually been rather than what the transit schedule says.
