What is actually made here

Başakşehir is two furniture addresses that get confused with each other. The first is İkitelli Organize Sanayi Bölgesi, which its own management describes as the largest organised industrial zone in Türkiye: 700 hectares, 38 cooperatives, 24,864 active firms and between 200,000 and 220,000 people at work, with 95% of the zone inside Başakşehir and the remaining 5% in Küçükçekmece.

Furniture is there, and it is a minority. İOSB publishes its own sectoral split: leather goods, footwear and leathercraft first at 25%, machinery and spare parts at 14%, vehicle repair at 12%, then furniture fourth at 8%, with timber a further 3%. So roughly one firm in nine in the zone is in furniture or wood. That is real manufacturing capacity, in a zone whose defining trades are something else.

The second address is MASKO, at İkitelli inside the same district, and it is not a factory zone. MASKO describes itself as an açık hava mobilya alışveriş merkezi — an open-air furniture shopping centre — and says more than a hundred thousand people come each year to buy furniture. The Ministry of Trade groups it with MODOKO as a furniture trade complex rather than a production site. Published answers to “where is Turkish furniture made” routinely name MASKO as a manufacturing cluster. It is a place to buy furniture.

A buyer walking Başakşehir would see hundreds of showrooms at MASKO and a very large mixed industrial estate a short distance away. The two are not the same supply chain, and a registered Başakşehir address on its own does not tell you which one a company sits in. That is the question to ask first.
