What is actually made here

Fatih’s district governorship describes an economy of trade, banking and head offices. By the governorship’s account, 80% of the management and sales centres of factories located outside the district are inside Fatih’s borders, alongside large trading houses, medium-sized industrial firms and thousands of small businesses. The İstanbul Chamber of Commerce is in the district.

The governorship calls Fatih a district of “dumansız sanayi” — smokeless industry — and has no furniture quarter in its list of trades; household goods appear only as a general heading. What it does describe is retail: the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet and Laleli, where Laleli alone holds about 400 hotels. The page is undated and some of it is plainly old — it gives İstanbul’s population as 14 million — so read the percentage as the governorship’s description, not a current count.
