What is actually made here
Kayseri is on the Ministry of Trade’s list of furniture production centres, and the provincial governorship publishes what that means inside the industrial zones. In Kayseri OSB furniture manufacturing is the largest sector group at 21.5%. In Mimarsinan OSB it is third at 13%, behind food and construction materials.
The rest of the Kayseri OSB split is worth reading, because it says what kind of place this is. After furniture at 21.54% come fabricated metal products at 19.04%, wholesale trade at 8.97%, electronics at 7.79%, rubber and plastics at 6.76%, textiles at 6.39% and machinery and equipment at 4.41%. In Mimarsinan OSB the order is food at 21%, construction materials at 14%, furniture at 13% and metal products at 7%. For the relative weight of the two, the governorship also prints their 2025 electricity consumption: 1.10 billion kWh in Kayseri OSB, 119 million in Mimarsinan.
The Ministry of Trade draws the distinction between the two big centres in one sentence, and it is the sentence a buyer should hold on to. The Bursa–İnegöl basin is strategically placed for export potential; Kayseri, it says, stands out as an industrial focus where large-scale producers are concentrated. The same report counts 56 large-scale furniture factories in the whole country. If the requirement is volume from one plant on one schedule rather than volume assembled across a district, Kayseri is the shape that matches.
What a buyer visiting would find is an industrial city rather than a furniture quarter. In both zones furniture sits alongside metalworking, plastics, textiles and food rather than in a district of its own, which is a different arrangement from İnegöl and a very different one from the İstanbul trade complexes. Kayseri is production, and the governorship’s own numbers are the evidence for it.
